International Paper's New Paper Factory In Pennsylvania
Feb 24, 2023International Paper (IP) announced on December 15, 2021 local time that it will build a state-of-the-art corrugated packaging plant in Atglen, Pennsylvania that will employ approximately 150 people.
In response, Greg Wanta, Senior Vice President of International Paper's North American Packaging Business, said, "We are excited to expand our business areas and continue to serve our customers by continuing to improve the level of safety, quality, operational excellence and customer service through the construction of new packaging paper mills."
It is understood that the new facility, when completed, will enable International Paper to expand its industrial packaging footprint in the northeastern United States. Construction will begin in the first quarter of 2022 and the plant is expected to be fully operational in the first quarter of 2023.
